The Factory: Writing Programs

Literary programming has been part of Ball & Socket Arts from the very beginning & we’re excited to continue offering workshops, classes, and author events exploring and celebrating many genres of written expression.

Current literary workshops, readings, and events are live on our Events page.

Beginning in Summer 2025, we are offering one-off writing workshops throughout on weekday nights. These are geared towards adults.

We also brought back our Poetry Night event as part of Live @ the Factory on August 22nd with headliners: Luisa Caycedo-Kimura and Michael “Chief” Peterson plus an Open Mic!

On September 28th from 2-4 pm, in partnership with ReReads, we will host an Author Talk and Book Signing featuring Roohi Chaudri and Serkan Görkemli in conversation about their debut works of fiction: Outside Women and Sweet Tooth.

Roohi will also lead a writing workshop on Saturday, September 27th exploring personal narrative with a scavenger hunt from 4-6 pm.
