Jane’s Walk: Explore the History of Button-Making in the West Main Region led by Agnes Wnuk

We will begin in Building 3 in the Workshop Gallery of Ball & Socket Arts to explore the West Main neighborhood centered around Ball & Socket Manufacturing, a button factory that once employed much of Cheshire. Learn more about the industrial history, boarding houses, factory workers, and transportation that powered this region, and what Ball & Socket Arts is doing now with these historic landmarks. 

The walk leaders will be Agnes Wnuk, the lead historical researcher for Ball & Socket Arts’ strategic planning project, funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities; along Ball & Socket Arts staff.
